Who do we support?
Thrift & Thrive is a community-driven company that is dedicated to improving our neighborhood and world through partnering with charities and organizations that support humanitarian efforts.
Currently we partner with two national organizations, as well as numerous local organizations that benefit the Portage Park neighborhood.
Thrift & Thrive benefits local schools such as Ole A. Thorp Scholastic Academy, St. Pascal’s and Luther North High School through various methods of donation and involvement. We are also very active in community groups such as The Irving Austin Business District, the Portage Park Neighborhood Association, the Portage Park Chamber of Commerce, and RAIS, the Revitalizing Austin/Irving Storefronts committee.
We are proud to offer our customers tax receipts issued on behalf of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. Unsold clothes that are sold/donated to Thrift & Thrive are picked up on a weekly basis by the Epilepsy Foundation and are sold to 3rd world nations or remanufactured into useable goods, creating a revenue stream that benefits The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago’s “fight to stop seizures, find a cure and overcome challenges created by epilepsy.”
We are proud to donate high quality men’s clothing to the VietNow organization that funnels these donations directly to the vets that need them the most. VietNow was established over 30 years ago in Rockford, IL. and is a member based organization for veterans who served in the US Armed Forces from 1957 right up until now. VietNow also supports Women’s Services (for the women that served), the victims of Gulf War illness, and other vets with medical needs.
