From Elizabeth Crowley O’Leary:

“Wonderful store; wonderful philosophy!I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa and Joe yesterday when I bought the most wonderful yellow vintage love seats (there’s a pic of them a few posts down). Anyway, I got a great deal, and they couldn’t have been nicer. better yet, I got great furniture with character, without generating a carbon footprint from China and buying from Target or the like. They even offered delivery to my home in Lincoln Park within a few hours of my purchase! Please support these independent owners!”

From Stephenie Presseller:

“How have I not posted a recommendation yet??? I LOVE this store! I’ve been scopin’ those racks since day 1 and never fail to find something I want. The owners are amazing people and I love supporting them. Thrift & Thrive, and all about it, is downright fabulous- highly recommended!!”

From Shannon Colvin Matteson:

“AWESOME Place! AWESOME Owners! AWESOME Stuff!”

From Vincent Roccosalvo:

“I don’t know anyone who can pass a Thrift Shop without at least looking in the window. I know I can’t. And once I’ve peered through the glass, I always see something I want to buy. Once inside, I usually buy at least six or seven things, whether I need them or not! But, that’s the fun part. A friend of mine used to say, “A Thrift Shop is really just a yard sale with a rental lease…and who doesn’t love a yard sale?” But, Thrift & Thrive is not just a thrift shop: there’s a lot more going on behind those doors than meets the eye. These people are committed to making your community a better place to live. So, please, go and visit Melissa and Joe, and see why they are making such a positive impact on your community. You’ll be making two new friends, and you’ll probably find a few things you absolutely must have…even if you don’t need them!”

From Angela Schoen Greenwood:

“no one who knows me on fb will be surprised that I post this store.. its a resale practically across the street and its name is close to the top of my list for life mottos.”

From Rosa Rivera:

“THIS IS A VERY NICE THRIFT STORE,GOOD PRICES AND GOOD SERVICES,TO ALL MY FRIENDS I KNOW TIME IS VERY HARD RIGHT NOW,IF YOU NEED CLOTHES AND TOYS STUFF FOR THE HOUSE,STOP IN AND CHECK IT OUT!”

From Erin Menet:

“A welcome addition to Portage Park! Go ahead, frequent this place often for exciting new stuff. I walked away with a pair of practically brand new jeans and a pair of slacks for work for just $11! Super pleased and can’t wait for more finds. The store is well organized and the window displays change often giving it a fresh new look nearly every time I pass it.”

From Leslie LaPlante:

“This is a great new thrift store – good, fun selection, and friendly people running the place. It’s continuing the exciting revitalization of this block of Irving Park just west of Austin, joining the newly reopened Patio Theater, Candy Heaven, and Las Tarascas.”
